A few useful details
Good to know.
Easy to start.
Is PRO really free? Do I need an API key?
Yes. Currency Converter Widget ⚡ PRO is free and open source on WordPress.org. You do not need a provider account or an API key to display the calculator. PRO is the plugin name, not a paid-plan requirement.
What can visitors do with the two layouts?
The pair calculator lets visitors enter an amount, choose two currencies and swap direction. The multi-currency calculator shows several amounts together; editing an amount recalculates the others. Both examples above are real plugin output.
Can I choose the currencies, language and number format?
Yes. Set the starting amount and currencies, choose an interface language or automatic browser-language detection, and control decimal places, grouping and separators. This playground offers representative currencies and languages; the plugin settings contain the full pickers.
Will it match my website and work on mobile?
The widget follows its container width. Choose a solid background or gradient, currency symbols or codes, input size, border, corner radius and shadow. Preview your chosen combination in its final column or sidebar before publishing. The surrounding editorial cards on this page are placement examples, not bundled templates.
Does it change shop prices or checkout currencies?
It adds an interactive reference calculator. It does not change WooCommerce product prices, payment currencies or checkout totals. Banks, cards and payment providers may apply different exchange rates and fees.
Where do the rates come from, and how fresh are they?
The widget loads external rate data through FX-W.io in the visitor’s browser. Check the update time shown inside the calculator for rate freshness; the separate source-link date is the page-render date. External-service availability and caching affect the result. Provider attribution remains visible. See the WordPress.org listing for the plugin’s external-service details.
